Slowed from the blazing speed she possessed in 2006, Valenzuela took only six shots on the year, finish without an offensive point. Throughout the seaosn, Alysse continued to return to form, finishing the season againt UC Davis on November 4 with a season-high two shots.</p><p><strong>2006 (Freshman):</strong><br /> In her first season for the Tigers, Valenzuela excelled up front for the Tigers before suffering a season-ending injury midway through the year in Pacific's first conference game. Before the injury, Alysse used her speed to open up opposing defenses as she notched six points in 11 games on two goals and two assists. Valenzuela's first collegiate goal was of the game-winning variety as she notched the lone goal of the game in Pacific's 1-0 win over Colorado College on September 1. Two days later, Alysse struck again, netting one of Pacific's three goals in its 3-0 win over Air Force. Her first collegiate assist came in the Tigers' 2-1 upset win over No. 22 Fresno State on September 19, as she setup the game-tying goal. In total, Alysse tallied 14 shots in her freshman season.</p><p><strong>High School:</strong><br /> Alysse attended St. Mary's High School locally in Stockton, Calif., where she was a four-time letterwinner in soccer. Playing all over the field for the Rams, Alysse excelled in each of her four seasons, earning All-San Joaquin Athletic Association (SJAA) honors. In addition, she garnered conference Most Valuable Player honors as an attacker in her second season and as a midfielder in her third varsity season. In her final season of play, Valenzuela was named to the All-Tri City League First Team. Due to her strong play, the Rams finished her final three seasons as the SJAA conference champions.</p><p><strong>Club Team:</strong><br /> Valenzuela has played for the California Cougars during her club career prior to coming to Pacific.</p><p><strong>Personal:</strong><br /> Born in Stockton, Calif., she is the daughter of Michael Valenzuela and Lisa Nicolas. Alysse has two older siblings, Angela and John. She plans to graduate with a degree in business administration.</p>
